We currently have more than 565 volunteers working at Mercy Gilbert Medical and Chandler Regional Medical Centers in a variety of clinical and non-clinical areas.

As part of the volunteer interview process we do our best to match your special skills to an area of service that will challenge you. Volunteers are an integral part of our team and we want your experience to be fulfilling and rewarding. Some of the support roles include:
Copying, faxing and other office duties
Support on nursing floors by answering patient call lights and assisting with patient and family needs
Gift shop sales
Courtesy cart drivers
Patient Care Services
Pet Therapy "Paws for Patients” - Certified pets and their handlers visit patients and staff members.
Flower Delivery - As a volunteer you will visit patients, offer them a fresh flower and spend time visiting with those who may not have family members available or living in the area.
Art Therapy - Creative volunteers utilize their skills by painting, sketching, and Origami. Our volunteers sit in the surgery waiting areas and create art providing relaxation for families of patients undergoing a surgical procedure.
Requirements to become a volunteer include but are not limited to:
Must be 18 years of age and out of high school
A minimum six-month commitment is required
Completion of the online pre-orientation video and application
A one-on-one interview and completion of orientation
Purchase of a $20 tax-deductible uniform
